DP Tordera-Planta del Ter artery project, DP Tordera-Fogars de la Selva section
Construction of 16 km of 1,400 mm diameter spiral welded steel pipe, with a nominal pressure of 40 atm; 3.2 km of 400 mm diameter spiral welded steel pipe, with a nominal pressure of 40 atm; a pumping station with four 750 kW booster pumps, with a flow rate of 600 liters per second. The entire route of the project was also revegetated, and an artistic mural was painted on the façade of the pumping station and on a 140 meter long concrete prism.
The main works units carried out on site were:
728,406.28 m³ Earthworks associated with the trench to lay the piping.
Supplying and laying 1,400 mm and 400 mm diameter pipe including bends and special fittings:
- 16,017.62 m Supplying and laying steel pipe with a yield strength of not less than 355 MPa.
- 3,220.00 m Supplying and laying steel pipe with a yield strength of not less than 235 MPa.
- 130 units Supplying and fitting steel elbows with a yield strength of not less than 355 MPa.
- 67 units Supplying and fitting PN-40 butterfly valves.
- 40 units Supplying and fitting PN-40 tri-functional air release valves.
- 2 units Supplying and fitting DN 1,400 mm triple offset butterfly valves with a nominal pressure of 40 atm.
Construction of the pumping station:
- Underground tank with a capacity of 3,000 m³.
- Pump room.
- Electrical room, transformer rooms, and shut-off valve room.
