General hydraulic infrastructure of the irrigable area of the new Civán Canal
-
Zaragoza
The hydraulic infrastructure is in Caspe, Zaragoza province , Spain. This project was carried out by the Ebro River Basin Authority for the Caspe Irrigation Community. The work affects two main canals (Civán and Caspe) that start at the Caspe dam and join in a reservoir, continuing as a single conduit..
The project has two main objectives:
• To enable the Caspe Canal to operate normally, for which purpose a drain will be built to the reservoir that joins the Civán Canal.
• To partially line the Civán Canal by crossing some drains underneath it, thus preventing damage to it.
The actions to be carried out are as follows:
• Energy dissipation works on the pipes of the new Caspe Canal.
• Canal improvement works to modify the intake points and adjust the draft.
• Drainage works on the new Civán Canal.
• Drainage passages under the Civán irrigation channel.
