Casa Fuster Hotel, 132, Gràcia Boulevard

  • Barcelona

Casa Fuster Hotel is a Catalan Art Nouveau building in Barcelona designed and built by Lluís Domènech i Montaner between 1908 and 1910. It is on Gràcia Boulevard next to Diagonal Avenue. It was converted into a luxury hotel in 2004.

In this house, Domènech i Muntaner used many of his characteristic elements as an architect: a base made of robust columns in red stone, trefoil windows, and floral ornamentation. The complex denotes great expressive restraint, enhanced by the marble and eurhythmy of the two main outer walls arranged around a strip gallery which from the first floor upwards is turned like a tower up to the crown of the building; the rear is unusually flat.

The work to be done consists of the refurbishment and repair of the outer walls and exterior wooden doors and windows.
