Construction of the new Gran Via between Escultura and Miguel Hernández streets, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat
-
Barcelona
The project consists of extending Amadeu Torner and Miquel Hernández streets, keeping their current width and adding two roundabouts at Castelao and Can Trías streets to facilitate road traffic in the area.
The work on the underground central section and development of the side roads along Gran Vía between Escultura Street and Miquel Hernández Street in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat includes the following:
• Lowering the central section of Gran Vía.
• Urban development of the side roads (north and south sides) of Gran Vía and their interconnections.
• Connection of the lowered central section to the side roads at street level.
• Drainage of the site (central section and side roads) including the construction of a water storage tank and replacement of the current sewer system in the area, taking special care with the general interceptors that run in a north-south direction.
• Implementation of a new Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat railroad station (Amadeu Torner/Fira) so that in the future it will connect with the new Metro Line 9.
• Replacement and/or relocation of the affected services, and provision for new service networks for the future development of the area around the road.
• Temporary diversion of traffic from the current Gran Vía
• 840 m out of a total of 2,175 m of the central section of the road will be covered.
• Each of the side roads will have three lanes, each lane measuring 3 m wide. Each side road will be one-way, on the north side leading towards Llobregat and on the south side heading to Cerdà Square.
