We have doubled the surface area of the Chemicals Quay

  • Tarragona

The Port of Tarragona, 100 km south of Barcelona, is one of the major Mediterranean ports and a distribution hub for the main petrochemical platform in southern Europe. The expansion of the Chemicals Quay involves increasing its area from 18 to 36 hectares, and raising storage capacity from 2.5 million tons to 8 million. The quay extension will create new areas for berthing vessels, thus enhancing liquid bulk traffic in the Port of Tarragona. The quay’s draft will also be increased to 16.5 m, allowing larger vessels to operate in it.
