Almogàvers Street urban development
-
Barcelona
The urban development work for the project area includes a section of street corresponding to two blocks, 321 meters long with a width of 20 meters between façades. The project area is 9.475 m².
The new scheme, which seeks to provide the maximum green and drainage area for the street, is supplemented by areas for vehicle traffic, particularly fire engines. Bicycles will be able to travel in both directions on this roadway and sidewalk at the same level.
There is a 4-meter strip paved with patterned paving stones on both sides adjacent to the facades, free of trees and other elements.
In the central part, there is a 3.50-meter concrete strip that allows for restricted, low-speed vehicle traffic, bicycles, and pedestrians.
Between the sidewalk strips and the central strip, a longitudinal space is created on both sides of the street for vegetation, seating and stopping areas. These strips host the streetlights and other street furniture.
The intersection with Zamora Street is turned into a large square with restricted traffic and large vegetation areas.
