Atlántico motorway, AP-9. Junction Cidade da Cultura de Santiago de Compostela

The works include building slip roads connecting with a number of roundabouts which are joined by a structure over the AP-9 (already completed). The south-bound junction slip roads are connected by two existing roundabouts. However, their size will have to be scaled due to the quantity of traffic they will have to handle. The roundabout connecting the north-bound slip roads is new.

The infrastructure is completed with road signs and markings together with illuminated markings and guardrails. In addition to the above, a wall is to be built on one of the roundabouts on the City of Culture side so as not to impact an underpass. The junction is enclosed by means of two types of fence (urban and specially reinforced). The highway’s fiber optic and SOS box wiring is to be replaced. Affected services will be restored including replacing communication lines, lighting and external development works due to the resizing of the roundabouts on the right-hand side of the City of Culture road.
