Widening the Transversal Arterial Road C-25 Highway, Gurb (Barcelona) Espinelves (Girona) stretch

The duplication of the C-25 between Gurb (Barcelona) and Espinelves (Girona) covers a 16.3 km main section designed for 100 km/h, except in the Romegats tunnel where the speed is reduced to 80 km/h, while ensuring traffic flow during construction on both the main road and intersecting roads.

The project includes 3 viaducts, 4 overpasses (two of which reuse existing structures), 2 wildlife crossings, and 9 underpasses, along with anchored retaining walls in interchange areas to protect structures.

It also includes 3 duplicated tunnels with a total length of 564.09 m, combining mined and cut-and-cover construction, and equipped with safety systems, lighting, signage, and control systems. Key structures include the Osormort viaduct (500.10 m), Font de la Riera viaduct (120 m), and Gurri viaduct (60.29 m), as well as auxiliary construction facilities.
