Redevelopment of Balmes Street, Travessera de Gràcia sections
-
Barcelona
The ratio between pedestrian and vehicular traffic areas has been redefined so that it can be implemented along the entire length of the thoroughfare.
Sidewalks 4,60 m wide and a roadway 10,80 m wide are being built all along the street.
This new cross-section makes it possible to plant new trees in alignment and widen the sidewalks by about 1.60 m between Molina Square and Pelai Street and by 2.20 m between Molina Square and Joaquim Folguera Square.
This sidewalk includes characteristic urban features that bring uniformity to the street, including patterned paving slabs, machined granite curbs, model 120 dropped curbs adapted for pedestrians, model 60 dropped curbs for vehicles, tree pits with gratings, street lighting and lime trees.
The roadway measuring 10.80 m in width along its entire length has three 2.55 m lanes and a 3.15 m wide bus lane. M-10 noise-reducing asphalt is to be laid and new road signs, road markings and traffic lights are to be installed.
