Refurbishment of façades and roofs at Hospital del Mar
The scope of the refurbishment work on the façades and roofs at Hospital del Mar at Passeig Marítim, 25-29, to enhance its energy efficiency encompassed three interventions:
• Façades: work was done on the north and west façades of the Monoblock building where the old curtain wall was removed and replaced with a new one.
• Roof of the services and operating theaters building: the roof of the services and operating theaters building was waterproofed by applying a single-component polyurethane paint after cleaning and renovating the surface.
• Canopy and roof of floor 10: the sandwich sheet metal of the canopy covering the terrace on floor 10 was replaced with another of similar features but with enhanced watertightness and fixing, working especially on the points which led to leaks such as edges and connections with the building by waterproofing these areas. Improvements and repairs were also made to the roof of the Monoblock building.
